EP Mission

‘EP is a non-profit mission organization. Its mission is to place sound Christian books and sound biblical teaching within reach of as many people as we can across the world. One hundred per cent of your purchases of books and giving enables EP to hold conferences, produce books, newspapers, radio shows and correspondence courses. We currently have EP employees working in three continents, and books printed in fifty languages. Thank you for your support in this ministry. We encourage you to keep reading and recommending our books to others. If you do, you will help us reach even more people with the glorious truth of the gospel! The mission of EP is to promote reformed literature throughout the world concentrating mainly (but not exclusively) in English, French, Russian and currently Chinese. In reality we do have publications available in at least fifty languages. The principle is simple – every area of our work in every country and language we work in is vitally important. Where one location or language makes a profit, or where we receive any donations, we use this to make our publications more affordable in other less well off locations, thus giving access to all.’

Conference programme Emanuel Church EP Books in Romanian Milling around Romanian flag

EP Romanian Pastors Conference 17th – 18th October 2008.
In the north-eastern corner of Romania in the region of Transylvania you will find the city of Oradea. There too you will find Emanuel University, an openly Christian institution offering students courses in theology, sociology, languages, music, business and management. Not far away you will find Emanuel Kindergarten, High School and Church which has a regular attendance of two and a half thousand people. There are around two hundred churches in the Oradea association of Baptist churches plus Pentecostal, Hungarian and other evangelical churches in the area. Times have changed. It is unlikely that we will ever be able to empathise fully with God’s people in Romania who clearly suffered great persecution during oppressive communist rule. Almost twenty years have passed since those days, and with them we can praise God that there is so much to rejoice in. Over many of these years EP (in partnership with Editura Faclia) has held pastors conferences on the university campus, seeing many of the changes first hand.
This year the UK contingent of the team comprised of John Rubens, Robert Oliver, Philip Eveson, David Magowan and David Woollin. The theme was ‘The beauty of holiness’, matching the title of the Welwyn commentary on the book of Leviticus written by Philip Eveson which has just been translated into Romanian. In three sessions Mr Eveson (Principal Emeritus of London Theological Seminary) helpfully took is through Leviticus demonstrating that this part of God’s inspired Word is essential and foundational to our faith. Similarly David Magowan (Pastor of Whitby Evangelical Church) took us into the first chapter of 1 Peter explaining the distinctive marks of true Christianity – A living hope, a genuine faith, and a sincere love. Robert Oliver gave the closing address encouraging us from 2 Kings that when God says something will happen it does. The team stayed on after the conference and on the Sunday were invited to spread out and preach at eight churches in the area. It has been a great challenge and encouragement to spend a few days with our brothers and sisters in Christ. It was our privilege to visit and open up God’s word for and with them. Before the end of the year EP move on to run pastors conferences in Benin, Cameroon and Russia. We are thankful for your prayers.
